Preparing to visit The Gambia

For 10 days over Easter 2012, 12 members of 3rd Ware will be visiting The Gambia, to stay in the village of Medina Sering Mass, and meet the Scouts and villagers with whom we have been twinned for the last 5 years.  On Wednesday evening, the whole group of leaders and their children met to finalise details, and to distribute the donated equipment that we will be taking out.

Over the last few months we have been raising funds to take out equipment to run scouting activities with the Young People in Medina Sering Mass.  The airline has kindly allowed us extra baggage so we can take these supplies with us.

The final list of activities that we'll be running is T-Shirt Painting, First Aid Training, Knots, Woggle Making, Compass Work, and Paper Plane Making. It's rumoured that we will also be asked to install several computers which they've had donated, so we're taking software out with us.  The T-shirts have already been shipped out to The Gambia.

Thank you to everyone who has made a donation to allow us to purchase this equipment. Don't forget to check back regularly, as we'll try to post while we're there.
