Cub Silver Award evening

Last night, those Cubs that had earned their Silver Award in the past year were invited to Ware Priory to receive their District certificate. A total of seven Cubs attended from both Packs.
After the presentations, our Scout Leader Dano spoke about more challenges, perhaps to get your Chief Scout gold award and further up to the Queen's Scout Award.
Well done to all the Cubs of Ware & District for finishing their award this year, and thank you to the parents who helped them to finish!

Lego evening

Falcon Pack were lucky to have a visit from Darren who as well as being a Beaver Leader with 5th Ware is a Lego Master Builder!
He set the Cubs the challenge of making a bridge over a river, high enough for a boat to go under, and strong enough for him to 'walk over'.

After they had all been tested to see if they had followed the spec, there was a short drink break before they had a tower brick building race.

A great evening, much enjoyed by all of the Cubs. Thank you Darren (or Panther as he is known at Beavers!)

District Founder's day

The Cubs of Ware & District all met at Amwell View School to celebrate the birthday of their Founder Robert Baden-Powell.

They were able to take part in lots of different activities such as swimming, dance, climbing wall, treasure hunt, soft play, a craft and hearing from a charity 'Cat's Protection'

The day ended with a short Cub's Own service where we were able to think about why they had joined Cubs and some of the things that they hoped to do.

Lunchtime!

Thank you to Amwell View school for the use of your lovely building and all the Leaders who came and helped to run the day.

Ghost walk!

Falcon Pack all went on a ghost walk around the town centre, led by John Wing of Ware Museum. We walked around the town, hearing stories about the buildings and people of the town long ago.
We went into Bluecoat Yard which from 1956-1972 was the home of 3rd Ware.

In the HQ at the start of the walk

We started at the HQ, before walking down Amwell End, East Street, down the High Street and to the Maltmaker statue. We ended at the Priory.
Many thanks to John for leading the walk, it was very interesting (and a little scary!)
