End of day 1

Flag down
We arrived at base around 10.30pm last night and after unloading the kit and a course briefing, the young people settled down into their bunks to try and get some sleep. As usual, on the first night, some found this came easier than others, however tonight should be a different story!

Today 3rd Ware have been out and about engaged in various activities. The Scouts have been walking, cycling and climbing and our Leaders the same, with the addition of orienteering, driving and catering. Wi-fi is difficult to access at the site and so we hope to add a few more photos when we get a chance.

This evening we have enjoyed a meal of pasta bake, garlic bread and treacle pudding and custard. The catering team are doing us proud! This team consists of a 3rd Ware Cub Leader (Shere Khan from Herons), a 3rd Ware Beaver Leader (Dormouse from River Lea), Martin the 5th Ware GSL (an ex-member of 3rd Ware) and Sue AKA District Toad (also ex-3rd Ware), all experienced at feeding many hungry mouths and so we know the participants will be well fed this weekend!

The card game
Right now the young people are either watching the film Up or are playing cards, before heading off to bed and another packed day tomorrow. We expect 3rd Ware Scouts to be either cycling, orienteering or walking.

Good night!
