St.George's day

Thank you to all the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Leaders who attended St.George's day.

Thank you also to the parents, who brought their young people along and supported us during the community work or in the parade.

We were fortunate that the rain held off for most of the day. We got a little wet forming up in the playground and as the parade set off, but since this is "apparently" the first time it has rained on the parade in 25 years and we are officially in a drought, we can not complain!

Well done to 1st Stanstead Abbotts and St. Margaret's for winning the Peter Geer trophy. This is awarded each year to the Group who (percentage wise) attends the most district events. Last year we were very busy with our own centenary, (although we did support every district event and several county ones) and so hand this trophy over with good grace and hope that it will once again reside in the 3rd Ware HQ in the near future.

Well done to the Scouts and Leaders, who along with the Guides, Explorers, Senior Section and various adults carried out all manner of community work around Ware. You really set a great example of service and showed that young people today do care about others.

Don't rain on our parade!
