Our first night back after the Easter Holidays and we were building Ballistas. The Patrols sub-divided into smaller groups and everyone started by tying their staves together using Clove Hitches, Timber Hitches, Square, Diagonal and Sheer Lashings all in an attempt to build the best object flinging devices

Eagles Patrol, under Luke's leadership, eventually won the competition with the longest shot. Not quite into the Guinness Book of World Records, but a clear sign that a career in aeronautical engineering maybe await some of these young people yet!
