Falcon Pack go ice skating

For their last meeting of term, Falcon Pack chose to go ice-skating at Van Hages.

It was a lovely way to end the year and all the Cubs had a great time.

It all got too much for some people!

A very happy Christmas to everyone and we look forward to all that 2020 has to offer.

Leaside Christmas tree festival 2019

The Beavers and Cubs have been busy made decorations for our entry into the Leaside Christmas tree festival.

This year the sections made different decorations and today it was all put together in the church.

The theme this year is a '3rd Ware Scouting Christmas'

We hope that you can all view the tree during Dickensian evening.

Christmas preparations week two

This week the Cubs iced and decorated their mini Christmas cakes. They used roll on icing and chose which decorations to add.

As well as icing the cakes we also made our decorations for the Leaside Christmas tree festival

Christmas with Falcon Pack

This week we made Christmas cakes in empty baked bean tins. The Cubs worked in groups of three to make up their cake mixture before carefully putting them into tins.
Baloo then took them home, baked them and got everything ready to ice them the following week.

And after the cake making, the washing up!

Home Help badge

Falcon Pack are working towards the Home Help badge over the next four meetings. Each week they will either cook some soup, sew a badge onto their uniform, clean the handbasins and windows in the HQ or iron their neckers and a T shirt.

At the end of the meeting this week, we had a team building activity and had to fold a groundsheet in half while standing on it and not falling off!

Emergency aid evenings

Over two weeks Falcon Cubs learnt about emergency aid, how to get help, call 999 in an emergency and how to do CPR.
In the second week we welcomed a paramedic and two community first aid responders to the meeting.
They showed us how to do CPR as well as putting people into the recovery position.

Sometimes you will need to put a bandage onto someone!

As well as learning some practical first aid we also found how about the app What3words.
This pinpoints everywhere in the world and can help the emergency services to find you
