Easter gardens

On the last meeting before Easter, Falcon Pack made Easter gardens. They had a selection of things to use- from fluffy chicks, moss, wooden crosses, foil for ponds and cress seeds to grow.
The Cubs all had lots of fun adding items to their gardens and creating a beautiful scene. Hopefully they all got home safely in the cars and no-ne braked sharply!
Michelle, the children's worker came along and told the Cubs about the Easter story as well. It was a great evening, thank you Michelle.

Cub Chief Scout Award evening

Those Cubs who had completed their Chief Scout Silver award in the past year went along to Ware Priory to collect a special certificate.
There were five Cubs from 3rd Ware Herons and Falcons that attended although more had completed the award over the past year.

Well done to everyone and thank you to Trev our ADC for organising the evening.

Founder's day

Last Sunday saw many of the Cubs of Ware & District attend Founder's day to take part in lots of activities. They were able to make Gilwell spiders or decorate door swingers in the craft area, go up the climbing wall, Zumba, games in the big hall, soft play, water polo in the swimming pool and do a treasure hunt outside. Good weather this year fortunately!

Then we had lunch. Rama enjoyed this part of the day!

At the end of the day some of the Falcon Cubs spoke about what we have done for #million hands and raising money and awareness for Wateraid. We gave thanks for the life of our Founder Robert Baden-Powell and remembered with thanks the life of Barney, our Scout Leader who had died in a motorbike accident that week.

The Cubs and Leaders all had a great day. Many thanks to all those who attended.

Barney

Our Scout Troops have started a book of condolences, which is now available in the front hallway of our Headquarters.  All are welcome to add your own comments or fond memories of Barney in it, or just read the wonderful memories that the Scouts and many others have written.

Our Headquarters is usually open every weekday evening, and it is currently planned to leave this book here until March 20th.

Details of Barney's funeral have now been announced - please speak to your leader for more information.
