Ceramic painting at Cubs

Last week, the Falcon Cubs got the chance to hand decorate a plate for Christmas. They made a handprint on a plate and turned it into a reindeer. These have been taken away to be fired, before being returned to the Cubs.

The Cubs had a fantastic evening. Many thanks to the lovely ladies from Glazed Creations who came along from Royston to run the evening.

Christmas Post 2014 winner

This year there were lots of entries for the 3rd Ware Christmas Post competition. The judges had a difficult time selecting a winner but in the end they decided on Sophie's design of snowmen.
Her design will now appear on all the 3rd Ware stamps that will be sold in aid of the Isabel Hospice and 3rd Ware Scouts.

Well done Sophie!

Falcon Pack visit Ware museum

This week, Falcon Pack went to see the display in the museum about World War 1 and how it affected Ware. John Wing explained about the posters and artefacts that were on display and the Cubs saw the 'Mourning map of Ware' that has been created. This is a map of the town as it was in 1918 and a pin put into the map where a man died during the war and sometimes after from his injuries.

While one group was in the display, the other Cubs tried one of the museum quizzes and explored the World Ware 2 bunker.

Dressing up in some of the outfits!

Working out how to use a typewriter!

Searching for buried treasure!

The Cubs had a great evening learning about how the War affected Ware.
Thank you very much to John and the museum staff.
