Day 2 and we're off to CTT2014

An early start saw us eating our saussage, bacon and egg sandwiches, washing up, packing all our kit and leaving on the minibus by 7:30.  We were off to Come To Tolmers (CTT) to join hundreds of other Scouts and Guides from across the County and further afield.

We were in good time to register and get a good position at Flag Break to then sign up to a wide choice of activities.

Our Scouts selected Zip Line, Pedal Karts, Inflatable Assault Course, Human Table Football, Laser Tag, Rifles, Aeroball, Tunnels and Slippery Slope.

First day of camp

Busy day today.  After a breakfast of sausage, bacon and eggs our Scouts headed down to various local fords to cool off in the warm weather.

The afternoon saw us return to the campsite for some good deeds as a thank you for allowing us to use the field - cutting back trees and painting the fence...

... and relax from the hard work....

This evening we've been chopping onions & chicken and enjoyed a Pasta Passata Chicken followed by cake and custard.  The Scouts have lit the fire ready for a relaxing time before CCT 2014 tomorrow.

Roving Scarf 2014

The Roving Scarf is back for the Summer of 2014. Take your scarf on holiday or for a day trip, photograph it and ask your parent/guardian to email a copy to rovingscarf at gmail dot com (without the spaces and replace the words with the appropriate symbol!) and we will feature your pictures on this blog.

Last year the scarf travelled far and wide, where will it go this time?

Raft Race

It is that time of year again! Time to gather in the Library car park, construct a raft or two and them attempt to get them to the bridge and back, vaguely in one piece.

This is one of the most popular events for our Scouts who love the chance to take part and entertain those watching from the River bank. The winners this year finished in 12 minutes, our teams, well we had a laugh and gave value for money to those who had made the effort to come down and support us.

Barney and his bucket along with Dano, made sure the Scouts got wet (along with a few specially selected others - a Ranger, a Ranger/Guide Leader and maybe an explorer or two).

Cream teas were being served by others in the Group, in the School grounds next to the River and fortunately the weather held, so another great community event was enjoyed.

Well done all who took part today, you looked like you had fun.
