Theme Park Day

We are on the way home - have just left McDonalds in Epsom, ETA 9.30pm.

I Want to Ride my Bicycle

Yesterday, our intrepid Scouts set out on a bike ride, taking in parts of last week's Lightweight Competition walk, including parts of Bramfield Woods and Harmer Green Campsite.  A very big well done to them for achieving, and enjoying, an impressive 41+km.

A Day at the Seaside

Last Saturday saw the Scouts leave rainy Ware and the S&P campsite to enjoy a sunny day at Clacton Beach, before returning back to camp.

Mini Pioneering

Heron Cubs spent a sunny evening constructing catapaults from garden canes and rubber bands.

Each six was given some materials in order to propel a projectile as far as possible.

Gardening at the HQ

This week, Falcon Pack tidied up the HQ garden, they did some weeding and planted lots of new flowers.

Oli pulled up all the nettles that were growing onto the pavement.

We made sure that the plants were watered.

The pots and plant beds all look lovely now, hope everyone else enjoys them!

Falcon Pack summer camp at Tolmers

19 members and the Leaders of Falcon Pack set off for Tolmers for their annual camp.
Starting with designing their own T shirt on Friday evening they had a very busy weekend!

On Saturday everyone got the chance to practise fire lighting, then cooked their lunch to gain the brand new Backwoods Cooking activity badge!

After more washing up and some free time, the Cubs then had the chance to try air rifle shooting instructed by Oli

Then on to the pedal go-karting.

Then into the splash pool to cool off and dinner of pasta bolognaise and apple crumble.

A fantastic campfire built by Will and led by Oli and lots of choices of songs by the Cubs. Even some stunts this year!

On Sunday morning the Cubs had a go on Rope-a-Phobia

Then after more lunch, more washing up and the taking down and clearing up of all the tents it was time for the final Grand Howl, awarding all the badges and prizes for the winning six of the weekend.

Thank you to all the Leaders who came along, especially Mr Shere Khan who did all the cooking. Everyone seemed to have had a good time and we can now think about summer 2015!
