Rise and shine time

The Beavers have all had a great night's sleep, so much so that they were all still fast asleep at the 7am reveille this morning.  Not long now to get dressed, pack and tuck into a bacon roll before the parents arrive - all remembering that the clocks have moved forward we trust ;).

A Real Life Pilot ...

The Beavers get to talk to Pilot Martin, as he keeps them abreast of his flying career.

All safely back at the hut

We suspect that many are tired enough to sleep well later :D.

Pets at Cubs!

Last night several pets joined Falcon Pack for the evening! Three dogs and a gerbil attended and several of the other Cubs brought photos along to tell the Pack about their pets and how they look after them.

After we heard about all the pets, the Cubs then found out about how they could encourage wildlife into their gardens, how litter and rubbish can endanger wild animals and how they can help.

Falcons visit Pets at Home

As part of the Animal Carer badge, Falcon Pack went along to the new 'Pets at Home' store in Hertford. Jack, one of the store assistants showed lots of the animals to the Cubs and they were able to hold some of the rabbits, guinea pigs, bearded dragons and snakes.
Jack told us how to look after the animals and the Cubs gave them some new names!

Thanks to Jack and the staff at Pets at Home for making us so welcome.
We look forward to finishing the Animal Carer badge next week!

Falcons raise money for CHIPS

As part of the Community challenge, Falcon Pack decided to do a sponsored walk and have a café at the end at the HQ. They walked from Wodson Park to the HQ, then met their parents at the HQ. Thanks to all the parents there were lots of cakes to eat!
After enjoying cakes and drinks, two Chief Scouts silver awards were presented to Iona and Alex by Trevor Byworth the ADC for Cubs.

Many thanks to everyone who supported us.

Beaver sleepover

The Beavers had a busy enjoying the circus themed bases.

We had a circus show, and were able to learn Circus skills, including Diabolo, Stilt Walking, and plate spinning!

All the Beavers had a good night's sleep, and so did most of the Leaders.  I was really impressed by all the Beavers keeping their kit packed in their bags so it did not get lost.  Well Done.
