We hear from the Gambia Scouts that the funds sent for uniforms made 92 uniforms and not the 60 as previously budgeted for. This means that all Scouts in our twinned Scout Group have uniforms. Photos of the uniforms can be seen in an earlier blog.
Fund raising efforts for 2013 will be focused on raising money to buy solar panels, batteries and an inverter.
Welcome to our Blog - At 3rd Ware we have 100 Scouting years behind us and now you can read about some of our adventures as we embark on the next 100! Enjoy and feel free to add a comment.

Scouts Photo Archive from 2012
Just before we start the new term, I thought we should have a look back at some of the stuff we got up to in 2012...
Corby Skatepark
Taking a break...
Playing with our food - marshmallows and spaghetti. The plan was to build the tallest free standing structure without eating all the marshmallows which some struggled to do!
District Cooking Competition
Everyone stands in a circle holding on to the rope whilst leaning back to add the tension. One by one, each person has to get up on to the rope and walk around the circle without falling off
Blindfolded penalty shoot out
A couple of our Lightweight Competition teams on day 1, just near the start of their 18 mile cycle ride
Laura's Investiture into 3rd Ware Lynx Troop as an ASL
Crayfishing on the River Lea, catching 9 in total
St George's Day community work, laying down some bark chippings in all the flower beds and painting over all the graffiti in the Skate Park
Swimming Gala - The Leaders Race
3rd Ware represented by Paul, James, DanO and Richard
Everyone gets off to a good start...
Richard returns in 1st place, closely followed by James in 2nd place, then DanO making 3rd place. Hunsdon's Adam comes 4th and Gt Amwell's Philip in 5th, but did no-one tell Paul that it was a 2 length race?
Building time...
Racing time, but which way?
...and on what side of the river?
Camping at the Sow & Pigs (without tents)
And how the Leaders do it...
Heavyweight Camping Competition
Building a sedan chair
and a blind tasting challenge
Digging the biggest hole competition
Chilling out
Building Balistas
Launch time
Halloween Pumpkins
Fun Rings at Goslings
Building a scaffold tower
Finishing the year off with some fundraising
...and carol singing by the front doors

Help find Emily
....UPDATE....Emily has been found. Thank you to all who shared this appeal....UPDATE....
Many of you will know Emily, and her family, because she is a past member of 3rd Ware Scout Group. Please share the police link to inform as many people as possible and help make the community aware Emily is missing.
Police are appealing to members of the public to help trace a missing girl from Hertford.
14 year old Emily Irvine from Hertford was last seen this afternoon (January 2) at Ware train station.
Emily is described as being white, 5ft 5ins tall and of a slim build. She is wearing grey jogging bottoms, a grey tracksuit top and white trainers.
Officers are asking Emily to make contact with them via the Herts Police non-emergency number 101. Anyone who believes they have seen Emily or knows where she is should also call 101.
Thanks for your help and we know you join the Group in hoping she is safely home very soon. Please don't post any sightings here but inform the police by calling 101. Thanks
