Card for HM The Queen
During our first meeting back after the summer, Falcon Cubs made a card to send to HM The Queen to congratulate her on becoming our longest serving Monarch.
Oxley Shield 2015
Last weekend saw all of the Packs in Ware & District go to Rigery Farm for the annual Oxley shield camping and Scouting skills competition. Each Pack had to camp overnight, cook their evening meal on an open fire and during the day take part in eight different bases. There was mini-pioneering, first aid, knotting, communication, an assault course, tent pitching, map and compass work and firelighting. Falcon Pack worked well together and came 5th overall. This year there was only 15 points between first and fifth so it was a very tight competition. Thank you to Izzy, Emily, Daisy, William, Richard & Luke for being part of our team.

Cream teas during the Ware town raft race
For the past three years, the Gambia committee of the Scout Group have raised money to support our twin Group in Medina Sering Mass by running refreshments during the raft race. Leaders and parents kindly donate lots of scones and cakes and they are sold before, during and after the race. The people from HELPING also have their stall to raise some funds for their work.

| A lovely spread of cakes! Many thanks to all that supported us again. The final amount raised is not yet finalised but we are going to replace Scout uniforms and scarves for our Scouts. |
Gosling Park fun rings
For their last meeting of term, Falcon pack went over to Gosling to try out the fun rings. Heron pack had been there before and had recommended the activity we went to give it a go!
It's great fun going down!
But hard work going back up!
Even better with a whole group going down at once!
The evening was great fun and everyone had a good time. Remember to take gloves if we go again...........
Tolmers Cub Activity Evening
Some of the Falcon Cubs attended the recent activity evening at Tolmers campsite. The queues were very long but they managed to go on the trampolines, Rope-a-Phobia and water wars to name a few. They all enjoyed what activities they were able to do.
Falcon Pack at the Park
Falcon Pack have been working towards the Navigator badge. The final requirement was to go on a short hike using an OS map. So we navigated our way to the park!
We all had a great time playing on the equipment until the end of the meeting!

District Cub fun run
This week was the District Cub fun run at Rigery Farm. There was a good turnout from 3rd Ware and both Packs did well in the run.
For the first time ever, it rained before the event started but fortunately it didn't rain for long and the Cubs set off on schedule.
After a short wait the results were announced and Herons were 3rd and Falcons 5th. A good result all round.
Well done to the Gambia Committee as well, who sold the refreshments and raised £200 for new uniforms for our Twin group in Medina Sering Mass.
