District Founder's day

The Cubs of Ware & District all met at Amwell View School to celebrate the birthday of their Founder Robert Baden-Powell.

They were able to take part in lots of different activities such as swimming, dance, climbing wall, treasure hunt, soft play, a craft and hearing from a charity 'Cat's Protection'

The day ended with a short Cub's Own service where we were able to think about why they had joined Cubs and some of the things that they hoped to do.

Thank you to Amwell View school for the use of your lovely building and all the Leaders who came and helped to run the day.

Ghost walk!

Falcon Pack all went on a ghost walk around the town centre, led by John Wing of Ware Museum. We walked around the town, hearing stories about the buildings and people of the town long ago.
We went into Bluecoat Yard which from 1956-1972 was the home of 3rd Ware.

In the HQ at the start of the walk

We started at the HQ, before walking down Amwell End, East Street, down the High Street and to the Maltmaker statue. We ended at the Priory.
Many thanks to John for leading the walk, it was very interesting (and a little scary!)

Gambia twinning

The Group sent out some parcels to Medina Sering Mass in October. There were lots of useful items-clothing, school uniform, shoes and adult clothing.

There were also school supplies. Items such as paper, pencils, jigsaws, geometry sets, rulers.

Maths text books kindly donated by St. Catherine's school.

First aid items donated by a Leader's company.

There had been a delay at the port for the ship to be unloaded and the items distributed but thanks to Sarjor from HELPING the items got to Medina quickly and were distributed to those in the school that would most appreciate them.

Ice skating at Van Hages

For the last meeting of term, Falcon Pack went ice skating at Van Hages. Everyone had a great time and it was a lovely way to end the year!

Thank you to the Young Leaders and Bagheera for braving the ice with the Cubs and for the other Leaders who helped out for the evening.
We wish everyone a Happy Christmas and best wishes for 2018 as we look forward to another Scouting year.

Falcon Pack make Christmas decorations

The Cubs of Falcon Pack made some decorations to hang on their own Christmas trees. They were all able to take a decoration home after the Pack meeting.

Christmas Post 2017 stamp competition winner

The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts were all invited to design a stamp for the Scout Christmas post of 2017. We were very pleased that one of the Falcon Cubs won this year and we look forward to seeing his design on the stamps around the town!

Ware carnival

Falcon Cubs and Lea Beavers entered Ware carnival again. This year the theme was 'Flower Power', but we thought outside the box and our entry was named 'Flour Power'. The Cubs and Beavers were dressed as MacDougall's men and the Leaders were chefs!
